![]() She would insist that everyone at the table have a bowl of ice cream with her. She refused to eat until she was certain that everyone had a plateful of food. ![]() Even to the end, Susie put others above herself. Those were her favorite moments, sunbathing in a lounge chair with a friend and her romance novels.Ībove all, Susie was unequivocally the most giving wife, mother and friend. Susie could be found on any given summer day with a glass of wine-or perhaps a daiquiri-in hand, sitting at the poolside or on the beach or by the lake. Susie laughed openly and deeply her joy filled the room, the adjacent room, and the whole house. ![]() Susie loved freely and honestly, she never shied from telling you exactly how she felt. Susie had the patience of a saint, especially while waiting with all her children in the van for her husband to finish vacuuming the house before leaving on a road-trip or waiting for her bowl of orange swirl ice cream to be served. Susie was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s disease and despite the difficulty of losing her mobility and the ability to enjoy her passions, she continued to fight for many years with a level of strength and determination that continually amazed all who knew her. Susie’s light continues in her five children: Chris (Larkin), Jay (Lindsay), Kelli (Stephen), Nick (Frankie), and Steph (Kevin), and her four grandchildren: Skye, Riley, Levi, and Lily. They lived and traveled all over the world and set their roots in Delaware. Susie and Dave were a devoted pair and shared a beautiful marriage for 38 years. They remained close friends for many years and shortly after her return to the United States, they were wed September 1, 1984. It was at her high school in Bitburg, Germany, that she first met the love of her life, David Resler. At age three, she moved with her family to France where she continued to grow up in Europe for the remainder of her childhood and early adulthood. She was the youngest of seven kids and is survived by her adoring siblings: Nod, Liz, Judy, Mary, Robert, and John. Susie was born Decemin Alexandria, Virginia to Philip and Dot Browning.
